2. Boarded
Drywall covers the walls and ceiling, with the joints still visible. Boarding creates the surface that will be taped and coated; it is not the finished wall yet.
3. Taped and sanded
The joints and fasteners have been coated, and the surfaces prepared for the painting stage. The photos show the drywall progression, rather than a completed painted interior.

If your basement is framed and insulated with the walls still open, the next stage is boarding. If the drywall is hung and the joints are still visible, you need taping and finishing.
